ROCKWELL - Mrs. Judy File Sledge, 66, of Rockwell, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at her residence.
Born Sept. 24, 1947, in Rowan County to the late Virgie Adams File and John Calvin File, she attended Granite Quarry schools, East Rowan High School, and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. Mrs. Sledge worked in the field of nursing.
She was a member of Potter's House Fellowship. Judy enjoyed spending time with family, going to the mountains and making quilts.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Harold Elwood Sledge, on March 16, 2003; daughter Annette Fesperman on June 14, 2013; grandsons Nicholas Ray Watson, Dustin Fesperman; and great-granddaughter Emma Rae Poole.
Surviving are her sons, Kenneth 'Pedab" Ray Bostian Jr. of Rockwell and John Hoyle Hedrick of Salisbury; daughters Connie Walls of Rockwell and Janet Poole of Gold Hill; brothers Johnny File, Richard File and Joe File, all of Salisbury; sister Jean Shoaf of Valdese; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 5) at Summersett Funeral Home
Service: A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday (Dec. 6) at Summersett Memorial Chapel, conducted by Alan Hess. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
Summersett Funeral Home is serving the Sledge family.
