Kenneth Ray Bostian
ROCKWELL - Kenneth Ray Bostian, 62, of Rockwell, died Saturday (Oct. 1, 2005) after several months of declining health.
Born Sept. 27, 1943, in Rowan County, Mr. Bostian was a son of Ray "Bud" Bostian and the late Robbie Miller Bostian. At around the age of 19, Ken traveled from state to state painting water tanks. He then became a truck driver for most of the remainder of his life. He drove for Flav-o-rich, University Forest, Cardinal, Paul M. Bost Trucking and Jim L. Bost Construction.
Ken 's hobbies included riding horses, camping and spending time with his family and friends. His friends gave him the name "Doc" after he shared a homemade remedy for an injury. Mr. Bostian was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, which was built by his ancestors.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Nicholas Watson.
Survivors include daughters Connie Watson of Rockwell, Janet Poole and husband Danny of Gold Hill and Annette Fesperman of husband Kenneth of Rockwell; son Kenneth Bostian Jr. and wife Christina Goodman of Salisbury; grandchildren Felisha and Casey Watson, Tiffany and Bubba Poole, Jessica, Jordan and Joshua Fesperman and Dakota Bostian; and sisters Karen Watkins of Lilburn, Ga., and Kristy Burleson of Salisbury.
Service : Memorial, 6 p.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Visitation : A gathering will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
