Ray Junior “Bud" Bostian

Mr. Ray Junior Bud" Bostian, age 88, of Salisbury passed away Monday, April 7, 2008 at Genesis Eldercare.

Mr. Bostian was born December 25, 1919 in Rowan County a son of the late Maude Bowles Bostian and the late Columbus Sloan Bostian. He was educated in the Rowan County Schools and a Veteran of the US Navy. He retired from Cannon Mills after 30 years of service and was also a farmer. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was active in Campers on Mission and Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Bostian built Pecan Crackers and was a founding member of East Rowan Saddle Club.

Preceding him in death was his first wife Robbie Miller Bostian on April 29, 1980 and second wife Geneva Byerly Bostian on February 12, 1991; son Kenneth Bostian on October of 2005; grandson Larry Watson; sister Margaret Brown and brother Clarence Bostian.

Survivors include his wife Irene Angell Jordan Bostian whom he married June 1991; daughters Kristy Burleyson and husband Gary of Salisbury and Karen Watkins and husband Carl of Lilburn, Georgia; step-daughters Louise Culp and husband Bill of Kannapolis and Phyllis Hamilton and husband Wayne of Advance; step-sons Jerry Jordan and wife Suzy of Danville, VA, Gene Jordan and wife Melody of Concord and Jan Jordan and wife Terry of Mt. Holly; brother Bill Bostian of Richfield; sisters Teetle Trexler of Liberty and Kate Lingle of Granite Quarry; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren also survive.

Services: 2:00 PM Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Friendship Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jason Pierce with burial to follow at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Visitation: Wednesday, April 9, 2008 from 6-7:30 PM at Lyerly Funeral Home.
