GOLD HILL -- Geneva Morgan Morgan, 91, Gold Hill, died Monday (Nov. 1, 2004) at her home.

Born Aug. 24, 1913, in Rowan County, Mrs. Morgan, a daughter of the late Abram Eli and Delia Coppley Morgan, was educated at Jackson College School. She retired in 1979 as a seamstress from R.W. Normans in Salisbury.

The oldest member of East Corinth Baptist Church, she was a former Sunday school teacher. During her 78 years at the church, she was active in all phases of church work.

Her husband, Gilmer Austin Morgan, died Feb. 15, 1981; and a son, Gilmer A. Morgan Jr., died in June 2002.

Survivors include sons Eli Calvin Morgan, Gold Hill, Bobby Frank Morgan, China Grove, and Charles Austin Morgan, Salisbury; daughters Margaret M. Casper and Sylvia M. Casper, both of Gold Hill, and Ruth K. Safrit, Ritchfield; sister Dora Morgan, Morvan; 20 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, East Corinth Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Johnny Daniels. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30. Burial, church cemetery.

Visitation: 6:30-8 tonight, Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell. At other times, the family will be at their respective homes.
