Lloyd Thomas Story
Lloyd Thomas Story, 81, of Gold Hill, passed away Wednesday morning, October 11, 2017, at Novant Health-Rowan Medical Center. He was in declining health for a few weeks. Mr. Story was born April 28, 1936, in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Donald R. and Devilla M. Story.
He attended China Grove/Landis Schools. Mr. Story was an avid NASCAR fan and worked at Cannon Mills in Kannapolis for over 50 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, playing his guitar, and singing old country music. The family will forever cherish all the good times and memories we shared.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Harold E. Storie, sons, Randal T. Story and Gregory A. Story.
Mr. Story is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patsy Brown Story, daughters, Kathy Calder and Rhonda Harrington, both of Gold Hill, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Sloan Lake Community Church, 140 Glory Road, China Grove, conducted by Rev. Dr. Zachary Sizemore.
Memorials may be made to Powles Staton Funeral Home to help defray final expenses.
