Patsy Brown Story
Patsy Brown Story, 81, of Gold Hill, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018, with her family nearby. She was in declining health for several years.
Mrs. Story was born May 12, 1937, daughter of the late Clifford and Hope "Granny" Brown. She was a graduate of Granite Quarry High School and worked for many years at Cannon Mills. Mrs. Story was a member of Rock Grove United Methodist Church where she previously sang in the choir, helped with Bible School, and was a cubmaster for Boy Scouts. She enjoyed puzzles, her Kindle, singing, and reading.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Lloyd Thomas Story; two sons, Greg Story and Randy Story; three brothers, Joe Brown, Bobby Brown, and James Ray Brown.
Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Rhonda Harrington and Kathy Calder, both of Gold Hill; six grandchildren, Nathan Harrington, Nick Basinger (Carly), Levi Basinger (Heather), Tiffany Sizemore (Derrick), Matt Story (Sadie), and Karissa Story; five great-grandchildren, Haley Moore, Reagan Sizemore, Sadie Sizemore, Grayson Basinger, and Ashlyn Page; sister, Faye Bennett; brother, Max Brown; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 7, at Rock Grove United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends and relatives following the service at the church.
Special thanks for all the love and help from family, friends, and loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Powles Staton Funeral Home to help defray final expenses.
