Thomas Ray Stoner, Sr. "Tommy", 71, of Spencer, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at his home in Spencer, NC.
He was born June 22, 1947 in Rowan County to the late James and Virgie Efird Stoner. He attended South Rowan High School. Tommy was a staple at Sam's Car Wash in Salisbury where he worked for over 43 years before retiring as the Sales Manager. Tommy loved camping, he enjoyed remodeling his historic house in Spencer, landscaping and working in his yard.
In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Kay Allman.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Judy Russell Stoner, whom he married March 10, 2012; daughter, Patricia Stoner Simpson and husband Steve of Monroe; son, Thomas Ray Stoner, Jr. of Pageland, SC; granddaughters, Paige Simpson, and Hannah Walton and husband Zack of Charlotte; grandson, Joseph Thomas Stoner of Pageland, SC; step-sons, Todd Kirk and wife Kelly of Richfield, Clayton Kirk and wife Amber of Pensacola, FL; step-grandson, Wyatt Kirk; step-granddaughter, Cynthia Kirk; sister, Jeanette Stoner Yost and fiancée Tom Loflin of Salisbury; nephew, Michael Yost and wife Jenny; niece, Lorie Cohen and husband Tommy.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Christiana Lutheran Church, Salisbury, NC.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, in the Christiana Lutheran Church, Salisbury, NC, with Pastor Carl Haynes, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Brookhill Memorial Gardens.
