George David Cannon

George David Cannon, 73, of Faith, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at his residence.

He was born March 4, 1948 in Newport News, Virginia to the late Frank and Mary Gardner Cannon.

He was a member of Shiloh Reformed Church of Faith where he taught The Ladies Bible Class and he was also the church choir director and the church handbell director.

George enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to give them rides on his scooter. He also enjoyed watching their games and making memories by the pool.
He spent alot of his time doing woodworking. He was a high school band director at East Rowan and West Rowan High School. He also directed the Oasis Shrine Club band. And for many years he directed the Patriotic Choir at the Faith Fourth of July Festival.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his Brother, Frank Cannon, Brother, Robert Cannon, Father In Law, Van Brown and his Mother In Law, Lucille Brown. And also by his son in law, Bradley Bowling.

George is survived by his Wife Susan Cannon , whom he was married to for 51 years ; Two Daughters, Erin (Michael) Kelly of Concord, NC and Ashleigh Bowling. And also by his four Grandsons, Carson Kelly, Parker Kelly, William Kelly and Braeden Bowling and his granddaughter, Banks Bowling;


The family will greet friends and relatives on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Shiloh Reformed Church of Faith, Faith.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, July 2, 2021, in the Shiloh Reformed Church of Faith, with Pastor Richard Myers officiating.

Burial will take place in the Shiloh Reformed Church Cemetery following the service.

Memorials may be made to Shiloh Reformed Church, Faith, NC.
