ROCKWELL - Ruby Loretta Brown Cranford, 84, of Rockwell, died Monday, May 7, 2007, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Cranford was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Geneva Scott Brown and Rodell Clark Brown. She had been a member of Rockwell United Methodist Church and had worked for Cannon Mills Plant 4 in Kannapolis and China Grove Cotton Mill.
Also preceding her in death was an infant son, James Lee Cranford, who died in 1946.
Survivors include husband Earl Ray Cranford Sr. of Salisbury; son Earl Ray Cranford Jr. of Salisbury; daughters Myrtle Loretta Greer of Salisbury, Brenda K. Williams of Concord; sisters Margie L. Furr of Albemarle, Thelma L. Smith of Concord, Audrey Ruth Barnette of China Grove, Carolyn Morrow of Millers Creek and Viola Jeanette Cook of Kure Beach; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation: 7-8 tonight at Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell.
Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Graveside Services will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery behind the VA Medical Center, conducted by Dr. John Blalock, pastor of Rockwell United Methodist Church.
Memorials: Memorials may be made to Rockwell United Methodist Church.
Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell is serving the Cranford family.
