Hoy Drye

Mr. Hoy Lee Drye, 65, of Faith, NC, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 13, 2014. Hoy was born on May 22, 1948 in Rowan County, son of the late Roy Drye and Louise Swinson Drye.

Mr. Drye was educated in the Rowan County Schools. Hoy worked at General Electric before starting Drye's Remodeling and Lawncare and was currently self-employed with Drye's Rentals.

He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and attended Calvary Baptist Tabernacle. He enjoyed being outdoors, working in his shop and woodworking, he thoroughly enjoyed time spent with his grand kids and traveling to the beach.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Parks Drye. Sisters Lynn Swink and Shirley Payne.

Mr. Drye is survived by son Gary Drye and wife Pam and their children Kiersten and Sawyer of Faith, daughter Crystal McKenzie and husband, Mark and their children, Justin, Mason and Sydney of Rockwell, five brothers, Donald "Pete" Drye, Douglas "Fuzz" Drye, Ronnie "Runt" Drye, Robbie Drye, and June Drye, two sisters, Beatrice "Nell" Raymer and JoAnne Drye. He also is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Hoy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who will live in our hearts forever and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation: 10:00 to 11:15 AM on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle.

Funeral Service: 11:30 AM on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, conducted by Rev. Brian Vanderford, Associate Pastor. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens, Rockwell.

Memorials: Calvary Baptist Tabernacle Building Fund, Stokes Ferry Road, Salisbury, NC.
