SALISBURY - Marvin Odell Parks, 79, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at his residence.

Mr. Parks was born Jan. 19, 1928, in Ocala, Fla., the son of the late Coy Thomas Parks and Thelma Secrest Parks. He was educated in the Montgomery County Schools, was a member of Grace Bible Church and retired as a Loan Officer and Inspector from Farmers Home Administration of Salisbury. Mr. Parks loved to make custom furniture.

Survivors include wife Helen Yost Parks, whom he married Nov. 17, 1945; son Narvile O. Parks of Salisbury; daughters Bonnie Drye of Salisbury and Carolyn Peck of Raleigh; brother Larry Lee Parks of Monroe; sister Ogilee Kirk of Pensacola, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight at Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell

Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Bible Church, Rockwell, conducted by Rev. Dennis Chapman, pastor. Mr. Parks will lie in-state in the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Brookhill Memorial Gardens, Rockwell.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to Grace Bible Church, Memorial Fund, 6725 Hwy.152, Rockwell, NC.
