James Lanny Harris, 65, of Norwood, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 19, 2016 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Norwood. Rev. David Hatley will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00, Friday evening, October 21, 2016 at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.
Lanny was born April 9, 1951 in Stanly County to the late Royal George Harris and Mecie Blalock Harris. He was a graduate of South Stanly High School and worked many years for E. J. Snyder. He was last employed by Allen Investigative Services as a Security Guard at Twin Harbor Camping Resort. He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church. He was a good husband, daddy and uncle.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine Smith Harris, they would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary, October 23;son Michael Harris and daughter, Amy Harris both of the home; sister, Sheila Hatley and husband, Gerald of Albemarle; niece, Jenny McConnell and husband, Bryan and their son, Carter; father in law, Baxter Smith; aunt, Sarah H. Blalock.
The family will meet at the home of Baxter Smith.
