William W. "Dub" Gill

Richmond Hill - William W. "Dub" Gill, 83, entered into eternal rest on December 31, 2003 at Bryan Health Care, under the care of Hospice of Savannah.

Mr. Gill was a native of Clyde, GA and lived in Richmond Hill most of his life. He was a member of the original Gill family that settled in Richmond Hill and he was the son of the late W. W. and Maggie Gill. He retired from the construction trade, and then became Vice President of The Harmony Group. He was an Air Corp WWII Veteran and a charter member of First Baptist Church in Richmond Hill.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lucy Goodall Gill.

Survivors include his loving family, three daughters and a son-inlaw, Patty Summer and Nancye Howell, both of Richmond Hill and Camilla and Robert Oliver of Hilliard, FL; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Margie Gill, Jimmy and Patsy Gill all of Richmond Hill; one sister, Margaret Martin of Midway and one brother, Weitz Gill of Richmond Hill; eight grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 1, 2004 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel in Richmond Hill.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2004 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Mr. Gill's niece, Rev. Brenda Crawford will be officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Hill First Baptist Church Cemetery.
