Edna Stokes Harrell
Edna Stokes Harrell, 86, of Gold Hill, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 at her home in Gold Hill.
She was born on August 16, 1930 to the late George and Lillie Hoffman Stokes at Salisbury, NC. Edna was educated in the Rowan County School System and graduated from Granite Quarry High School. She worked as a seamstress before becoming a secretary for her husbands business R F Harrell Plumbing and housewife. She was a member of Liberty Methodist Church.
Edna enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, traveling and sewing. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by Husband, Robert Fincher Harrell, Sr., and Sister, Ruby Honbarrier.
Edna is survived by her Son, Robert F. Harrell, Jr. of Gold Hill, NC; Daughter, Darlene H. Thomas and husband Martin of Rockwell; Granddaughter, Kristen Reinhart; Two Grandsons, Eric Thomas, and Keith Thomas; Great-granddaughter, Averie Reinhart; Sister, Mazie Peeler and husband Jim of Eustis, FL.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, at 2:00 pm at the Salisbury National Cemetery (202 Government Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144) with Rev. Charles Curtis, officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials in memory of Edna may be made to the American Kidney Fund 11921 Rockville Pike # 300, Rockville, MD 20852 or to the donor's choice.
