Lillie Wagoner Hopkins

GOLD HILL - Lillie Mae Wagoner Hopkins, 79, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2007 at the Palliative Care at NC UBMC, Winston Salem.

Mrs. Hopkins was born Jan. 25, 1928 in Stanly County, daughter of the late Paul Henderson Wagoner and Katie Mae Parker Wagoner. She was a graduate of the Richfield High School.

She retired in 1999 from Carolina Maid, was a life member of the Luther's Lutheran Church, past church council member and member of the Women of the ELCA. She did sewing for family and liked to travel.

Mrs. Hopkins was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. William Ray Hopkins, Sr. who died April 27, 1981, and a brother, Ray Wagoner.

Survivors are sons, Glenn A. " Hoppy" Hopkins and wife Vivian of Gold Hill, William Ray (Billy) Hopkins, Jr. and wife Wanda of Woodleaf, and Mark Hopkins and wife Bumper of Gold Hill; one daughter, Shirley Eudy and husband Ralph of Rockwell; brother, Samuel Lee Wagoner of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Mrs. Mary Ruth Miller of Rockwell; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Service: The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Luther's Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. Constance Garrett, Pastor of the St. Stephens Lutheran Church, with burial in the Church cemetery.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Powles Funeral Home from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday.
