Mark and Suzette Jones

GRANITE QUARRY - Tommy Marshall "Mark" Jones Jr. and Suzette Burleson Jones, of Granite Quarry, died as a result of injuries received in an auto and motorcycle accident on June 17, 2012.

Service: Funeral Service for Mr. and Mrs. Jones will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 25 at Faith Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by Rev. Dan Gobble, pastor of Providence United Methodist Church, Rev. Joe Smith, pastor of Faith Baptist Church, and Angela Mahoney, Minister of Students at Faith Baptist Church. Burial will follow at 12 Noon at the Salisbury National Cemetery on Statesville Boulevard.

Visitation: The Jones family will be at Powles Funeral Home Sunday, June 24 3-6 p.m.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the East Rowan Band Boosters or East Rowan Football Program, 175 St. Luke's Church Road, Salisbury, NC.

Suzette and Mark were married May 20, 2006. They enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, playing Disc Golf, watching anything their children participated in and spending time with family.

Suzette Burleson Jones, 48, of Granite Quarry, was born on Aug. 6, 1963, in Concord. A 1981 graduate of South Rowan High School, she had worked at China Grove Cotton Mill and at Granite Knit Wear. Suzette enjoyed playing Disc Golf, shooting pool, playing with her dogs, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and being with family.

Survivors include sons Derek McDonald of China Grove and Rodney Smith, Jr. of Salisbury; daughter Brittany Smith of Germany; mother Glenda Sue St. Clair Burris and stepfather Boyce Burris of Concord; father Howard Marion Burleson and stepmother Elaine of Brockston, Ga.; brother Howard Anthony Burleson and wife Brenda of Woodleaf; and granddaughter Makayla Evans Wilkerson McDonald.

Tommy Marshall "Mark" Jones, Jr., 47, was born July 19, 1964, in Charlotte. A 1982 graduate of East Rowan High School, Mark worked as an industrial technician. He had retired from The National Guard and had received the following: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer's Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 2, Army Service Ribbon and Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon.

Mark was a member of the Patriot Guard, Faith American Legion Post 327, and had assisted the coaching staff at East Rowan with football. Mark loved winning Disc Golf matches against his children; and above all, he loved his family and country unconditionally.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Honbarrier Jones.

Survivors include sons Garrison Marshall Jones and Daniel Hall Jones, both of Salisbury; father Tommy Marshall Jones, Sr. and stepmother Emma Morgan Jones of Holden Beach; sisters Wendy Jones Grimes and husband Jeff of Faith, Lisa Jones Pryor Stiller and husband Robbie of New London, Gina Jones Wilhelm of China Grove; and stepsister Amanda Hans and husband Bill of Lake Norman.
