Roberta Kluttz Basinger

SALISBURY - Roberta Kluttz Basinger, 81, of Salisbury, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte.

Born Oct. 15, 1924 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late W. Lee Kluttz and Mary Kate Eagle Kluttz. She was educated at Rockwell High School and worked for Carolina Maid as Seamstress and Floor Supervisor. A member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Hazel Trexler Sunday School Class, life member of WELCA and past member of the Choir; she also worked with young people at the weekday church school.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husband Osco Clay Basinger who died Aug. 1, 1988; sister Zelma Foster and brother Keith Kluttz.

Survivors include her sons Osco L. Basinger and wife Barbara, Olin L. Basinger and wife Audrey; daughter Myraline Basinger Trexler and husband Jerry; sister Bernita Kluttz Abernathy; all of Salisbury; grandchildren Gina, Kristie, Daniel and Ryan Basinger, Marnie (Danny) Deal, David and Lisa Trexler.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Salisbury, conducted by Rev. Gary Coble, Pastor., Rev. David Ridenhour, Pastor of St. Peters Lutheran Church.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation: 6:30-8 p.m. Friday at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell and remainder of the time at the home of daughter Myraline Basinger Trexler of Salisbury.

Memorials: St. Matthews Lutheran Church Family Life Center; or American Heart Association.
