Michael B Yost, passed away on Saturday, April 15th.
He was born in Corpus Christi Texas to the late Marvin Brown and the late Georgia Mae Yost. Mike was a graduate of East Rowan High School and Rowan Technical College. He was a hardworking, dedicated, and genuine man who lived to help others which showed in his work at Pope and Arey and in multiple positions at Waste Management, BFI, and owned and operated Carolina Environmental Services.
Everything Mike did in life focused on providing and caring for his family. He lived for his family, whom he loved more than life itself. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Yost, of Salisbury, sisters Connie Brown Holshouser and husband Jimmy of Lexington, Billie Jo Schweitzer and husband Ed of Charlotte, and his children, Kristen Sides and husband Dustin, of Locust, Cortney Morgan of Concord, and stepson Jason Draper and wife Kim, of Knoxville, Tennessee. Mr. Yost is also survived by his grandchildren, Brandon, Michael, and Matthew Sloop, Connor Morgan, Maksen and Jett Sides, and Jake, Cole, Morgan, and Addie Draper.
To those who knew him, Mike was an honorable man who would do anything to help anybody, a friend, a dad, a grandfather, husband, hero, and so much more. Words cannot describe how devastated we are at the loss of such an amazing person.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 1:00-1:45pm at First Baptist Church in Salisbury.
A memorial service will follow on Thursday at 2:00 pm in First Baptist Church in Salisbury, with Pastor Brian Farmer, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 947765, Atlanta, GA.
