Norma Lee Hoyle

SALISBURY - Norma Lee Williams Shaver Hoyle, 76, of Salisbury, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at the Hinkle Hospice House, Lexington.

Norma was born Sept. 13, 1935, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Robert L. Williams and Virginia Cline Williams Arey.

Norma was a 1953 graduate of Granite Quarry High School and a graduate of Salisbury Business College. She was a lifelong member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, a member of the James Mathis Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jake Shaver, on April 8, 1988; and her second husband, Rev. John William "Bill" Hoyle, on May 18, 2006.

Survivors include daughters Cyndi Shaver Yost of Granite Quarry, Karen Shaver Whicker of Thomasville and Gina Shaver Tucker of Lexington; grandchildren Cortney Morgan of Granite Quarry, Kristen Yost of Locust, Daniel Whicker, Bristol, Tenn., Jessica Whicker Williams of Winston-Salem, Jacob Whicker of Thomasville, Justin Morgan of Texas, Dylan Tucker and Jaden Tucker of Lexington; great-grandchildren Brandon, Michael and Matthew Sloop of China Grove, Connor Morgan of Granite Quarry, Trista and Kaelyn Morgan of Texas; and sisters Sandra Williams Earnhardt and Judy Williams Helms of Salisbury.

Visitation and Services: Graveside Service is 4 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Angela Burris, pastor. A celebration of life will follow in the church. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall after the service.
