Inez Eller Shepherd
Inez Eller Shepherd, 74, Salisbury, died Sunday (May 4, 2003) at Autumn Care of Salisbury.
Born Sept. 22, 1928, in Rowan County, Mrs. Shepherd was a daughter of the late Lee and Jennie Loudara Lemly Eller. She was educated in the Rowan County schools.
Formerly employed as cafeteria manager at Morgan School, she retired from Lyon-Shaw Corporation. She was a life member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, where she was involved with WELCA, the Seniors Sunday School Class, the choir and taught in the preschool Sunday school class for 42 years. She was a member of Liberty Home Demonstration Club.
Her husband, Charlie David Shepherd, died March 21, 2001.
Survivors include sons Larry D. and Sammy Shepherd, both of Salisbury; daughter Shelia Shepherd, Salisbury; brothers Richard, Floyd and Neel Eller, all of Salisbury; sisters Louise Bassinger and Mary Agner, both of Salisbury; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services: 4 p.m. Wednesday,St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. John Sell, interim pastor, and the Rev. William Ketchie, pastor, St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The body will be placed in the church at 3:30 p.m. Burial, church cemetery.
Visitation: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell. At other times, the family will be at the home.
Memorials: St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Family Life Center.
