Minnie Grace Shepherd
Grace Smith Shepherd, 96, of Salisbury, died Friday (Nov. 17, 2000) at Lutheran Home, Salisbury.
Born Oct. 26, 1904, in Davidson County, Mrs. Shepherd was a daughter of the late Susan Bean and David Earlie Smith. Educated in Davidson County schools, she was a homemaker.
A member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, she helped organize the St. Matthews Senior Citizens Club and was a charter member of the club, member of the Clifford File Sunday School Class and a member of the LCW.
Mrs. Shepherd was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Calvin "Cal" Shepherd, who died Feb. 1961, and son Coy Shepherd.
Survivors include sons Albert, Charlie and Ralph Shepherd, all of Salisbury; daughter Elizabeth File, Salisbury; sister Daisy Smith; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services:3 p.m. Saturday, St. Matthews Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Bill Jeffcoat, pastor. Burial, church cemetery.
Visitation: 1-2:45 p.m. Saturday, at the church.
Memorials:St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Building Fund.
