James Richard File, Sr.

James Richard File, Sr., 71, of Salisbury, NC passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at his residence. James was born on July 19, 1944 in Rowan County a son of the late John C. and Virgie Adams File.

Richard attended Rowan County Schools and was a member of Wyatts Grove Baptist Church, enjoyed farming, woodworking, cutting firewood, going to tractor shows, especially in Denton. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved spending time with his family especially " his grand babies".

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Judy Bostian and Marie Hedrick.

Survivors include sons, Richard File, Jr. and wife Shannon of Salisbury, Johnny Lanning and wife Christy of Salisbury and Jody Lanning of Asheville; brothers, Joe File and wife Carol of Salisbury and Johnny File and wife Loraine of Salisbury; three grandchildren. Jamie File and wife Julie of Billings, Montana, Shannon F. Albertson and husband Chase of Richfield; and Ben File of Rockwell and two great grandchildren, Haley Albertson and Madelyn Albertson.

Visitation: The family will be at Powles Staton Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday.

Service: Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday at Powles Staton Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Ron Loflin. Burial will follow in Wyatts Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care.
