GOLD HILL - Pearle Irene Stoner Poole, of Gold Hill, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury after a period of declining health.

She was born July 14, 1938, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late John David Stoner and Anna Kesler Stoner.

In addition to her parents, Pearle was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lee Poole, Sept. 8, 2013; by brothers Ray, Carl Lee, Ralph, Claude, Harold, Ned; sisters Daisy Earnhardt and Mary Troutman; great-granddaughter Emma Rae Poole.

Survivors include sons Michael Joe Poole (Patti), Bobby Lee Poole and Danny Wayne Poole (Janet); daughters Patsy Jane Collins (Mark), Susie Ann Peeler (Kenneth) and Shelia Jean Joslin (Stephen); nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Stoner of Salisbury.

Pearle was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family very much. A kind and loving person, she enjoyed spending time and having fun with her family. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, sewing, gospel music and making crafts. Pearle especially loved holding and watching her grandchildren grow up.

She was educated in Rowan County Schools, and worked at Heist-McCain Hosiery, then at Richfield Manufacturing, before retiring from Rowan Industries.

Visitation: 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 at Liberty United Methodist Church.

Service: 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 at Liberty United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charlie Curtis officiating.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty United Methodist Church for the Building or the Sound System Funds.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Home Care of the Carolinas, with special thanks to Stephanie and Christy; Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care; West Liberty Fire Department First Responders, with a special thank you to Matt Brock and Rick Elium.
