David Odell Holshouser

GOLD HILL - Mr. David Odell Holshouser, 64, went to be with the Lord Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 at the Lincoln Nursing Center, Lincolnton, surrounded by his family and friends.

Mr. Holshouser was born on Aug. 2, 1943 in Rowan County, a son of the late Herman Odell Holshouser and Esther Troutman Holshouser.

He was educated at Morgan Elementary School and East Rowan High School, had worked for Cannon Mills in Plant #6 and retired in 2002. Mr. Holshouser was of the Baptist Faith.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were son, Rodney Wayne Holshouser who died in 1966 and a sister, Donnies Misenheimer.

Survivors include, two sons, Terry Odell Holshouser and wife, Teresa, of Gold Hill and Jonathan Holshouser of Belmont; daughter, Penny Holshouser Edwards and husband, Randy, of Lincolnton; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services: Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007 in the Powles Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Harold Smith, pastor of Parker Memorial Baptist Church, Richfield. Burial will follow in the Gold Hill Cemetery.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. before the funeral service Wednesday.

Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell is serving the Holshouser Family.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the employees of the Lincoln Nursing Center and the Lincoln County Hospice for their loving care of our Father.
