SALISBURY - Margaret Earnhardt King, 80, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

She was born September 4, 1927, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Leo Lawson Earnhardt and Ella Ruth Allen Earnhardt. She graduated from Granite Quarry High School and was a seamstress with Rowan Industries. Mrs. King was a member of Union Lutheran Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Carl Edward "Buddy" Helms, and sisters Sarah Ruth Earnhardt Lambert and Bonnie Louise Earnhardt.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry King; a brother, Bobby Lee Earnhardt; a sister, Betty Earnhardt Stoner of Salisbury; one granddaughter, Miki Murray; one great-granddaughter, Grace Murray; and two great-grandsons, Michael and Matthew Murray.

Service: A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the National Cemetery, Salisbury, conducted by the Rev. Robert Howard.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday.

Powles Funeral Home is assisting the King family.
