Mildred King Kesler

SALISBURY - Mildred Brown King Kesler, 85, of Salisbury, died Thursday (Aug. 25, 2005) at Genesis Eldercare after a period of declining health and two months of serious illness.

Born May 27, 1920, in Rowan County, Mrs. Kesler was a daughter of the late Lewis and Beulah Peeler Brown. She was educated at Gold Knob and Rockwell schools and was a homemaker. A member of St. Peter 's Lutheran Church, she was a life member of Lutheran Church Women and a member of the Faith American Legion Auxiliary in Faith.

Mrs. Kesler was preceded in death by her husband, Crawford "Bill" Kesler, on Nov. 7, 1981.

Survivors include sons Jerry King and wife Margaret and Bob King, all of Salisbury; stepsons Larry Kesler and wife Sherril of Gold Hill and David G. Kesler and wife Donna of Cleveland; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Service : 11 a.m. Saturday at Lyerly Funeral Home 's James C. Lyerly Chapel. The Rev. David Ridenhour, pastor of St. Peter 's Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Brookhill Memorial Gardens in Rockwell.

Visitation : 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Memorials : American Cancer Society, Rowan Unit; or St. Peter 's Lutheran Church.
