Notes for Shirley Ann Hildebrand
Shirley Ann Hildebrand Bost

Shirley Ann Hildebrand Bost, 63, of Rockwell, passed away on Friday September 17, 2021 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury. She was born on October 22, 1957 in Rowan County to Shirley Hollar Hildebrand and the late Lee Hildebrand.

Shirley is a 1975 West Rowan graduate. After graduating, she worked as a Seamstress at Rowan Industries before she became a mother, and while her children were in grade school, she worked as a substitute teacher for Rowan-Salisbury School system with a focus on special needs classrooms. Shirley also worked 29 years as a Pre-School Teacher for St. James Preschool where she loved on and taught over 700 children. She was a member of Ursinus United Church of Christ in Rockwell and was very involved with numerous committees. Shirley was always the one to step in where help was needed and did it with a smile on her face. She was a caretaker to many but especially her mother. Shirley loved to go on cruises and spend time at the beach looking for seashells and being with her family. More than anything, her greatest joy was being a Mother and Grandmother. She would look for ways to bring a smile to their face and a giggle to their bellies. Being a Grandmother is the role that she shined in the most.

In addition to her father, Shirley was preceded in death by her Mother-in-law, Rena Bost and Father-in-law, Hugh William Bost, Sr.

In addition to her mother, Shirley is survived by her husband, Hugh William Bost, Jr. of Rockwell; daughter, Wendy (Jason ) East of Apex; son, William Eric (Brittany) Bost of Rockwell; two granddaughters, Cora Ann East, and Brennan McKinley Bost; a grandson, Banks Eli Bost; sister-in-law, Jody (John) Mease of Mooresville; brothers Jerry (Caroline) Hildebrand of Salisbury; and Rick (Judy) Hildebrand of Salisbury; sisters, Jane Nichols of Salisbury; Donna (David) Cranfield of Salisbury; and Teresa (Steve(Craig)) Stroud of China Grove. Shirley was also surrounded by many nieces and nephews who loved her very much.
