GOLD HILL - Phillip Larry Efird, 55, of Gold Hill, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh.
Mr. Efird was born June 22, 1951, in Rowan County, a son of the late Everette J. Efird and Kathryn Bean Efird. He was educated in Rowan County schools and was a self-employed roofer. He was of the Baptist faith.
Phillip is survived by his wife, Shelia Barringer Efird, whom he married Feb. 4, 1982; daughter Tamara Efird of Gold Hill; stepdaughter Diedre Maines and husband Michael of Salisbury; brothers Johnny and wife Shirley Efird of Lexington, Robert and wife Linda Efird of Salisbury, E.J. and wife Helen Efird of Albemarle and James and wife Wanda of Faith; sister Mrs. Betty Perry of Salisbury; grandchildren Haylee and Gauge Moose of Gold Hill; and stepgrandchildren Leslie and Mikaela Maines of Salisbury.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Efird was preceded in death by grandson Gavin Wayne Moose, brother Nelson Efird and nephew Kevin Efird.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
