Faye Parker Nelson
Mrs. Faye Parker Nelson, 67, of Mocksville, found peace from her courageous 18 month battle with cancer on May 2, 2017.
She was born in Salisbury on July 31, 1949, the daughter of Martha Basinger Parker and H.A. Parker, Jr. She graduated from North Rowan High School and worked in Human Resources and as an Executive Assistant for a number of companies and local government. She grew up in Salisbury, and subsequently lived in San Diego, CA., Denver, CO., Danville, VA., and Mocksville, NC. She enjoyed reading, gardening, travel, and the companionship of her cats.
Survivors include her loving husband of 37 years, Gregg Nelson of Mocksville; brother, Jimmy Parker and wife, Gennene of Rockwell; brother, Robert Parker and wife, Philly of Statesville; and sister, Katherine Goodman and husband, Randy Sr. of China Grove.
A celebration of Faye’s life will be held for family and friends on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 4-7 PM at Union Lutheran Church, Bringle Ferry Road, Salisbury.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Faye’s memory to the Hospice & Palliative CareCenter, Mocksville, NC, or to the charity of your choice.
A special thanks to the wonderful, compassionate staff at the Hospice & Palliative CareCenter.
