ROCKWELL - Master Sergeant Jerry Wayne Miller, Ret., 60, of Rockwell, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center-Northeast, Concord.

Jerry was born Sept. 24, 1952, in Rowan County, the son of Bertha Moose Miller of Rockwell and the late Cleatus A. Miller, Sr.

Jerry was educated at Mt. Pleasant High School and Rowan Cabarrus Community College. Jerry had retired from the United States Marine Corps after having served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Miller-Russell American Legion Post # 112 of Rockwell. Jerry helped his father with his business, Miller Salvage, after retiring from the United States Marine Corps.

In addition to his father, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Dennard Miller and a brother, Bobby Ray Miller.

Survivors include daughters, Erin Miller, Brandi Morgan and husband Tim of Kannapolis and Devin Reavis of Concord; grandchildren, Tyler Reavis, Alexis Malund and Peyton Helms; brothers, Cleatus A. Miller, Jr. and wife Pat of Gibsonville, Michael Lee Miller and wife Cindy of Rockwell, Kenneth Eugene Miller and wife Tammy of Rockwell, James David Miller and wife Shirley of Concord, Tim B. Miller and wife Lori of Rockwell; sisters, Joyce Miller Smith and husband Ronnie of Blanco, Tex., Judy Miller Shue and husband Tim, Melinda Miller Eagle and husband Ben of Rockwell, Brenda Miller Harkey and husband Bobby of Salisbury, Cathy Miller Keever and husband Ken of Albemarle; and sister-in-law, Quinta Miller of Kannapolis.

Visitation: 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.

Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the Powles Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Spencer Swain, pastor of Grace Lower Stone Church, Rockwell.

Burial: 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Salisbury National Cemetery with graveside rites conducted by the United States Marine Corps.

Powles Funeral home of Rockwell is assisting the Miller family.
