Bertha Beatrice Moose Miller
Bertha Beatrice Moose "Granny" Miller, 88, of Rockwell, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018.
She was born March 18, 1929, in Cabarrus County to the late Henry Peter and Lizzie Oma Boger Moose. Mrs. Miller attended school in Cabarrus County and worked for Cannon Mills in Kannapolis, Hosiery Mills in Concord and later worked with Cabarrus County Schools and Nazareth Childrens Home in Rockwell. Mrs. Miller was a member of Grace Lower Stone Church where she was active in the Women's Guild. She enjoyed working with flowers and participating in the bike-a-thon for St. Jude, riding well into her 60s. She was a nurturer who most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cleatus Andrew Miller, Sr., sons, Bobby Ray Miller and Jerry Wayne Miller, and granddaughter, Samantha Lee Harkey.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her children Cleatus Andrew Miller, Jr. and wife, Patricia, of Gibsonville, Joyce Elizabeth Smith and husband, Ronnie, of Blanco, TX, Michael Lee "Shorty" Miller and wife, Cindy, of Rockwell, Kenneth Eugene "Pete" Miller and wife, Tammy, of Rockwell, James David Miller of Concord, Judy Diane Shue and husband, Tim, of Rockwell, Melinda Ann Eagle and husband, Ben, of Rockwell, Brenda Jean Harkey and husband, Bobby, of Rockwell, Cathy Jo Keever of Kannapolis, and Timmy Brian Miller and wife, Lori, of Rockwell, two brothers, one sister, 30 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday, February 1, 2018, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 2, 2018, in the Grace Lower Stone Church, Rockwell, with Rev. Jay Whitley and Rev. Brian Russell officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Autumn Care for their love, care, and support during Mrs. Miller's stay.
Memorials may be made to Grace Lower Stone Church, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
