ROCKWELL - Cleatus Andrew "Pop Miller" Miller, 79, of Rockwell, died July 9, 2007, at his residence.

Mr. Miller was born June 18, 1928, in Cabarrus County, a son of the late Robert Lee Miller and Dora Lee Moss Miller. He was educated in the Cabarrus and Rowan County schools.

Mr. Miller was a retired truck driver, saw miller and was self-employed with Miller's Salvage, retiring in 1987 due to poor health. He was a member of Grace Lower Stone Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Ray Miller, on Jan. 18, 1996.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bertha Beatrice Moose Miller, whom he married April 21, 1946; sons Cleatus Andrew Miller Jr. of Gibsonville, Michael Lee Miller, Kenneth "Pete" Eugene Miller, Timmy Brian Miller, all of Rockwell, James David Miller, Concord, and Jerry Wayne Miller, Rimertown; daughters Joyce Elizabeth Smith of Blanco, Tex., Judy Diane Shoe, Melinda Ann Eagle, Brenda Jean Harkey, all of Rockwell, and Cathy Jo Keever, Mount Pleasant; 31 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren also survive.

Service: The funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday at Grace Lower Stone Church, conducted by the Rev. Kevin Gilliam, pastor, the Rev. Walter Patten, former pastor, and Don Kluttz. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home from 6:30-8:30 tonight and at the residence the remainder of the time.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to Rowan Regional Home Health & Hospice; or Nazareth's Children's Home.
