BLACKSTOCK, S.C. — Mr. Terry Park died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill after an extended illness.
A native of Rowan County, Mr. Park was a son of Marvin James and Janet Shuping Park of Rockwell, N.C.
He was a 1968 graduate of South Rowan Senior High School in China Grove, N.C. and a 1972 graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. where he earned a bachelor of music degree.
His love of music followed him throughout his life.
He served his country in the U.S. Army both at home and abroad until his retirement in 1995, having attained the rank of Sergeant First Class.
During his tenure, he was inducted into membership of the Chapel of Four Chaplains for his work in military chapel programs in Germany. After retirement from the Army, he pursued a career in music education and taught at Clinton Elementary School in Lancaster, S.C.
In keeping with his life’s passion for music, he served as music director in many churches during his military career. For the past 6½ years, he served as the Minister of Music for the First Baptist Church of Winnsboro, S.C.
