SALISBURY - Rose Kepley Arey, 75, of Salisbury, died Sunday Feb. 25, 2007 at the NC Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks.
She was born May 5, 1931 in Rowan County to the daughter of Garner Webster Kepley of Salisbury and the late Bertha Kepley Kepley. She was a 1949 graduate of Granite Quarry High School, a homemaker, a substitute teacher for Rowan County schools, former employee of Big Star Food Store in Salisbury and original cashier for the first Food Lion Store in Salisbury. Rose was a member of Salisbury Christian Fellowship & a member of the Faith American Legion Post Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors in addition to her father are husband, J.C. Arey, married June 26, 1949;, sons, Joe Arey & wife, Pam Smith Arey of Salisbury, Tim Arey & wife, Aimee of Salisbury; daughter, Sally Arey Bame of Salisbury; brother, Gary Kepley of Salisbury; sister, Shirley Russ of Faith and grandchildren, Andy Bame & wife, Megan, Amanda Bame, Hannah Arey, Seth Arey.
Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Salisbury Christian Fellowship, Salisbury, conducted by Dr. Don Vess, Pastor and Rev. Stan Welch, Pastor of Blackwelder Park Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell and the remainder of the time at the residence.
