Stephen Frank Morefield

Stephen Frank Morefield, 65, of Salisbury, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, September 2, 2005, at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, surrounded by his loving family.

Born January 29, 1940 in Rowan County, Mr. Morefield was a son of Gladys Setzer Kreiser of Salisbury and the late Leo Frank Morefield, Jr. Steve was a 1958 graduate of Rockwell High School and had worked at NC Finishing Company, Greenwood Mills, and was a self employed Woodworker and Antique Collector. He did contract work refinishing pianos for Kluttz Piano Company for many years. Steve enjoyed fishing, loved playing the Guitar, and enjoyed Archery having won the South Carolina State Archery Championship at one time. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. Steve enjoyed finding and collecting Civil War Relics with his metal detector.

Survivors in addition to his Mother, include his wife, Sharon Peddycord Morefield, whom he married Oct. 31, 1988, son, Mark Morefield and wife, Katherine of Mooresville, NC, step-son, Monty Rast of Orangeburg, SC, daughters, Dana Morefield Salley and husband, Austin of Lexington, SC, McCall Morefield of the home, brother, Max Morefield and wife Sis, of Salisbury, step brother, Larry Kreiser and wife Martha of Asheboro, NC, step brother Rodney Kreiser of Salisbury, sisters, Fay Wyatt and husband, John, of Salisbury, Becky Bost and husband, Bob, of Rockwell, NC, grandchildren, Sheldon Salley and Whitney Salley of Lexington, SC, Morgan and Taylor Morefield of Mooresville, NC.

Services: 11:00 AM Monday Providence United Methodist Church conducted by, Rev. Dan Gobble, Pastor and Rev. Fred Hill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation: The family will be at the Powles Funeral Home in Rockwell from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Sunday and at the home the remainder of the time.

Memorials may be made to Providence United Methodist Church.
