Sylvia Rogers Harkey, 78, of Albemarle passed away Tuesday November 18, 2014 at Stanly Manor Nursing Center. Her funeral will be graveside, 2 PM Thursday November 20, 2014 in Stanly Gardens of Memory with Rev. Elizabeth M. Ayscue officiating.
Born October 8, 1936 in Stanly County, NC she was the daughter of the late Charles Wade Rogers and Leila Ferree Rogers and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband Harold Lane Harkey of Albemarle. Other survivors include daughter Sharon Harkey Lambeth and husband Johnny of Norwood, grandchildren Meredith McIntyre Curran and husband Matthew of Matthews, NC and John Robert McIntyre and wife Catherine of Albemarle, great-grandchildren Brody Curran and Gabe Curran, sisters Janice R. Brewer and husband Don of Albemarle and Pamela R. Helms of Concord, and nieces Ellen Blue, Cindy Brewer, and Meneika Helms, and special friend Becky Stamper of Albemarle.
The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Stanly County.
