Mrs. Gladys Terry Harkey Stone, age 100, passed away on Sunday, December 25th, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.
Her graveside service will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, December 28th, 2011 at Fairview Memorial Park in Albemarle, NC and her family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 1 PM to 1:45 PM just prior to the hour of service. Rev. Fred Carpenter will officiate.
Born July 1st, 1911 in Richmond County, NC, Mrs. Stone was the daughter of the late Stephen Fleming Terry and Mary Agnes "Mollie" Gibson Terry.
She was a homemaker and former employee of Wiscassett Hosiery Mill. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Albemarle.
Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her first husband, Martin L. Harkey; her second husband, Frank D. Stone; and son, William Richard Harkey.
She is survived by two sons, Clifford Harkey and wife Peggy of Fayetteville, NC and Harold Harkey and wife Sylvia of Albemarle, NC; four grandchildren: Jan Harkey Pella, Steve Harkey, Jeff Harkey, and Sharon Harkey McIntyre; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to Main Street United Methodist Church, Albemarle.
