Sherry Jo Wagoner Smith
Sherry Jo Wagoner Smith, 61, of Gold Hill, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. She was born December 12, 1956 in Rowan County to Leroy and Lillian Taylor Wagoner.
Sherry was an active member of Gold Hill Wesleyan Church where she served as the church Treasurer for the last 20 years. She also worked for Fisher-Greene Insurance of Granite Quarry for over 40 years. She looked forward to the annual beach trip with her family who was the most important part of her life. She will be remembered as a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Model Christian, and Dedicated Employee who loved her job, and was loved by all who knew her.
Sherry is survived by her husband of 36 years, John Wesley Smith of Gold Hill; children, Melissa Smith Simmons and husband Zachary of Salisbury, and Brian Wesley Smith and girlfriend Mallory Linden Graham of Salisbury; brothers, Ken Wagoner of Gold Hill, and Rick Wagoner of Salisbury; sisters, Teresa Earnhardt and husband Ralph of Gold Hill, and Tammy Wagoner of Gold Hill; a granddaughter, Ava Grace Simmons; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM at Gold Hill Wesleyan Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at the church. Burial will take place in the church cemetery following the service.
Memorials may be made to, Gold Hill Wesleyan Church - Building Fund.
