James Wayne Hayden
James Wayne Hayden, 67, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 8, 2022.
Jim was born February 10, 1954 in Wyoming County, West Virginia to the late Elmer and Edith Hayden. He attended school at Marian A. Peterson High School in California and then Baileysville High School and Marshall University in West Virginia. James worked as a car inspector for Norfolk Southern Railway. Upon his retirement, he was able to spend increased time in his most treasured role as Pop to his five adoring grandchildren. His most vital contribution will continue to be the love he poured into his grandchildren as they remember the countless times he read them a great story, listened attentively to what they wanted to share, and comforted them in times of need.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Sharon Hayden, his son Jason Hayden (Amy), daughter Ashley Cleland (Scott), and five grandchildren Reagan Cleland, Asher Hayden, Lincoln Cleland, Gentry Cleland, and Everett Cleland.
A celebration of life will be at 11 am on Wednesday, January 12 at Lake Community Church on Bringle Ferry Road with Pastor Ronnie Pinyan officiating; a brief visitation will follow.
