Catherine Elizabeth Steele
Catherine Elizabeth Fisher Steele 90, of Rockwell passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Catherine was born on July 29, 1925 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Luther Lee and Agnes Catherine Miller Fisher.
Catherine was a 1942 graduate of Rockwell High School. She retired from Cannon Mills, and from Rowan County Sheriff Department where she worked as a jailer. Catherine was a member of Organ Lutheran Church, she enjoyed flowers, gardening and her family.
In addition to her parents, Catherine is preceded in death by her husband, James Milburn Steele; sons, Bobby Wayne Steele and David Allen Steele; daughter, Sharon Elizabeth Steele; and a sister, Mary Louise Fisher Stirewalt.
Catherine is survived by her son, James Lee Steele and wife Debra of Gold Hill; daughter, Judy Steele Livengood of Salisbury; and a sister, Brownie Fisher Stirewalt of Rockwell. Catherine is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
The visitation will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 from 1:30 to 3:00 pm in the Parlor of Organ Lutheran Church.
The funeral will be held on Monday, October 5th at 3:00 pm at Organ Lutheran Church conducted by Pastor Carlin Ours. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials in memory of Ms. Catherine may be made to Organ Lutheran Church Building Fund/Windows 1515 Organ Church Road Salisbury NC 28146.
