ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mr. Charles Henry Hamilton, 79, of Rock Hill, went to be with our Lord on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at his home.
Born in Salisbury, N.C., Mr. Hamilton was married for 57 years to the late Sylvia Waller Hamilton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheri Livingston; and his parents, Mark Henry Hamilton and Mary Nesbitt Hamilton.
He was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church and was a US Navy veteran. He retired from Winn-Dixie and loved the outdoors.
He loved his family and took great pride in his grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons, Charles D. Hamilton of Greenbrier, Tenn., Jeffrey S Hamilton of Rock Hill and Raymond Hamilton of Snellville, Ga.; daughters Lisa Marsengill and Mary Creighton of Rock Hill; brother Tim Hamilton of Salisbury; sisters Louise Madures and Loreen Newton of Salisbury and Lois Correll of Oak Island, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Service: Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25 at Epiphany Lutheran Church with Rev. Jeff Lingle officiating.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel.
Memorials: The family requests that memorials be made to Epiphany Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 4763, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
