Doris Corl Hudson
SALISBURY - Doris Corl Hudson of Salisbury, passed away at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014.
Doris was born in Rowan County on July 23, 1928, the daughter of the late Ralph Austin Corl and Lena Jackson Corl.
Doris was a 1945 graduate of Granite Quarry High School. She was a seamstress and retired from Norman's of Salisbury in the Fancy Drapery Department.
In addition to her parents, Doris was also preceded in death by a son, Ralph Scott Hudson, on Sept. 8, 2010.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, James Milton Hudson, Sr., whom she married Dec. 4, 1947; a son, James M. Hudson, Jr. and wife, Gwen, of Salisbury; two daughters, Jennifer Hudson of Newport and Carol Goodman and husband, David, of Kannapolis; one sister, Delma Baity of Salisbury; To her six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, she was their beloved “Mommaw Dobb."
Visitation and Services: A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014 at 4 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church conducted by Pastor Randy Conley. The family will receive friends in the Faith Lutheran Family Life Center after the memorial service until 5:30 p.m. Burial will be private. The remainder of the time, the family will be at the home of Jim and Gwen Hudson.
Memorials: Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 669, Faith, NC 28041 or Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care, 720 Grove Street, Salisbury, NC 28144.
