Notes for Jack Aaron “Joe” Poole
Jack Aaron Poole

Jack Aaron Poole, 86, of Salisbury, who was known as “Joe” to his friends, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 6th, 2021.

Jack was born June 4th, 1935 to Ruth Miller Poole and Ralph Jacob Poole in East Spencer. He attended East Spencer High School where he played basketball and baseball. He met his wife Annette Campbell and they were married in 1957. In 1958, Jack joined the Army and served as a Military Policeman at Sandia Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1961 their Son, Scott Aaron was born and they resumed life in Salisbury. Jack had a long career at JH Cook & Sons that spanned over 50 years.

Jack lived a very full life; he enjoyed fishing and he was an avid sports fan. He loved watching his favorite team the Atlanta Braves. His favorite hobby was tinkering in his “Tool Shed” where he enjoyed repairing shoes, sewing wallets and nearly anything that had to do with leather.

His greatest passion was his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He often visited his son, Scott and daughter in law Beth in Arkansas. He loved their five children Clark (Jenn), Tanner (Rachel), Morgan (Devin), Meredith (Pearson), and Colby. His most recent pride and joys were his four great grandchildren who are Finely Poole (5), Foster Poole (3), Price Tillman (1), and Palmer Gean (10 Months)

Jack is survived by his son, Scott of Arkansas; and sister Sophia Poole Peacock of Salisbury. Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Annette Campbell Poole; his brother R. Jacob Poole; brother Norman Douglas Poole and his Parents.

Jack never met a stranger; he always had a smile on his face and was ready to help neighbors and friends in the community. Sadly, he lost his life after a brief battle with Covid. He is gone too soon and as an 86 year old he still had a lot of fishing and living to do.

An Outdoor Graveside Celebration of Life will be held Friday, September 17th at 11am at the Salisbury National Cemetery Annex (Off Statesville Blvd). The family will speak with friends following the service. All friends, family and community are invited to join.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the “Homes for Troops”.

Summersett Funeral Home is serving the Poole Family.
