Notes for Barbara “Annette” Campbell
Annette Campbell Poole

Annette Campbell Poole, 81, of Salisbury who was a loving wife, mom, sister, and mawmaw, went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2019 after a long battle with COPD.

Annette was born in 1937, the daughter of the late Roy H. Campbell, Sr. and Pearl Eagle Campbell, both of Salisbury. She graduated from Boyden High School in 1955, where she enjoyed playing basketball. She was a telephone operator for Southern Bell Telephone.

While attending Boyden, she met her husband of 62 years, Jack “Joe” Aaron Poole, who still currently resides in Salisbury. Together they traveled and once settled, had their only child, Scott Aaron Poole.

Annette enjoyed her time raising her active son who always brought a smile to her face. Scott married Beth Cole and started a family giving Annette five grandchildren, Clark, Tanner, Meredith, Morgan and husband Devin Tillman and Colby. Even though the family lives in Arkansas, these five grandchildren were the center of Annette’s world. Her face would light up every time she spoke of them and she always had a new picture to share her joy with. Their time together when they came to visit, the warm hugs and Annette’s loving personality will be fondly remembered. The family continued to grow and blessed Annette with two great-grandchildren, Finley and Foster, whom she loved with her warm, caring personality.

She is also survived by a sister, Rachel Campbell Rufty and brother, Roy H. Campbell and wife, Norma, all of Salisbury.

She was of the Methodist faith.

She enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves as well as her favorite snack, Little Debbie’s.

Annette will be missed by her family as she starts the next chapter in Heaven. In Life, in Death, in Life Beyond Death, God is With Us.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Summersett Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Summersett Memorial Chapel with Rev. Susan Morris, Hospice Chaplain, officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted at 9:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Salisbury National Cemetery.

Summersett Funeral Home is serving the Poole family.
