Rena Morgan Brown
Rena Morgan Brown passed away on August 28, 2016 at Asbury Care in Charlotte, NC. She was born in Rowan County to the late A.D. and Carrie Eagle Morgan.
Mrs. Brown attended Brevard College and the University of Greensboro and was a retired school teacher, having taught math in Wilson, Rowan and Mecklenburg Counties. She was actress Ava Gardner's high school math teacher.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ripley Brown Sr. in 2004 of 54 years. Survivors include; son, Frank R. Brown, Jr and his wife Ada, daughters, Anne C. Gardner and her husband Bruce, and Betsy Brown and her husband Kirk Johnson, grandchildren Morgan V. Brown and Emilia R. Brown.
A memorial service will be held at Dilworth United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 1:00 PM. The private burial will be held prior at 10:00 AM at Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery, Gold Hill NC.
In lieu of flowers memorials will be made to Dilworth United Methodist Church, 605 East Blvd, Charlotte, NC, or The Children's Home, 1001 Reynolda Rd, Winston-Salem, NC.
