Kenneth “Kenny” Ray Shepherd
Mr. Kenneth “Kenny” Ray Shepherd, 66 of Gold Hill passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Shepherd was born on May 11, 1952 in Rowan County, son of the late Irvin Kenneth Shepherd and Mary Fry Shepherd.
Mr. Shepherd was a 1971 graduate of East Rowan High School. He worked for Bamby Bakery for 15 years, RF Harrell Plumbing, was owner of P & S Plumbing, was employed for 16 years at Piedmont Correctional Institution in the Maintenance Department and most recently as a Engineer at Embassy Suites Hotel in Concord.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother Edward Eugene Shepherd.
Mr. Shepherd is survived by his wife, Helen “Bunny” Bean Shepherd whom he married October 10, 1992, sons Adam Clifford Shepherd of Rockwell, Russell Chaffin of Harrisonburg, VA, Chris Chaffin of Charlotte and Mickey Chaffin of Salisbury.
He is also survived by his daughter Mary Ann Whitaker of Salisbury, brother James Patrick Shepherd of Gold Hill, 10 grandchildren and also by his beloved dog, Shadow.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 21 from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Liberty United Methodist Church.
There will be a memorial service on Monday, May 21 at 12:30 PM at Liberty United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Charlie Curtis, Pastor.
