SPENCER - Ruth Baker Brown, 75, of Spencer, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury.
She was born Feb. 24, 1938, in Spencer, the daughter of the late Lucille Eagle Baker and Charlie Mike Baker.
Ruth graduated from Boyden High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Harry E. Brown on Dec. 17, 1994; and brother Richard Baker.
Those left to cherish her memory are son Gary Brown of Salisbury; daughter Donna Simpson and fiance; Todd Farmer of Salisbury; sister Faye Cobb of Salisbury; grandchildren Jasmine Brown of Salisbury, Randy Menster (fiancé, Kelly Brownell) of Wilmington, Jesse Brown (Desire Snider) of Salisbury and Katie Adams (Jerry) of Wilmington; and great-grandchildren Summer and Case.
Arrangements: Service is 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 2380 Long Ferry Road, Salisbury, NC 28146, with the Rev. Kelly Ottinger officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
Memorials: Bethel United Methodist Church.
