Lessie Davis Lanning
SALISBURY - Mrs. Lessie Davis Lanning, 82, of Salisbury, passed away on Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at Magnolia Gardens Extended Care Community of Spencer. Lessie was born July 27, 1926 in Caddo Parish, Louisiana, the daughter of the late D. R. Davis and Lola Pace Davis.
Lessie was educated in the Louisiana Schools, was a member of Faith Baptist Church and had retired from the W.G. Hefner V.A. Medical Center of Salisbury and had been a volunteer at the Granite Quarry Meal Site.
In addition to her parents, Lessie was preceded in death by her 1st husband Donald Ribelin, Sr. on Sept. 3, 1992; 2nd husband, George Clifford Kluttz on Jan 18, 1996; 3rd husband,Vernon Lanning on March 28, 2002; son, Robert "Bobby" William Ribelin on Dec. 16, 1982; and a sister, Bessie Trexler.
Survivors include sons, Donald Ribelin, Jr. and wife Vickie of Salisbury, Rodger Dale Ribelin and wife, Laura of Montgomery, Alabama; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Visitation: 10 a.m. -11 a.m. Tuesday October, 21, 2008, at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.
Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday October 21, 2008, at the Powles Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Joe Smith, Pastor of Faith Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials: Rowan County Senior Services, 1120 S. Boundary Street, Salisbury, NC 28144.
