GOLD HILL - Mrs. Deborah Shepherd, 56, of Gold Hill, passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Carolinas Specialty Hospital in Charlotte.
Deborah was born on Nov. 13, 1957, in Davie County, daughter of the late Eugene and Juanita Harold Crotts.
A graduate of Davie County High School, Deborah was a CNA and provided in-home care. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church in Mocksville.
Deborah is survived by her husband of over 26 years, James Shepherd, who she married on May 15, 1987; sons Chris Hellard and Ben Hellard, both of Gold Hill; daughter Amanda Swink and husband Brody of Gold Hill; brother Bob Crotts and wife Susan of Kernersville; and grandchildren Claudia Ann Hellard, Tyler Swink, Cody Swink and Scarlett Swink.
Service: The Funeral Service is Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 2 p.m. at Concord United Methodist Church in Mocksville, conducted by Rev. Roy Miller, pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials: May be made to Powles Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Rockwell, NC, to help defray funeral expenses.
