SALISBURY - Luther Voight Lingle, 85, of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 24, 1922, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Julian Ralph Lingle and Ethel Safrit Lingle.
Mr. Lingle graduated from Mount Ulla High School and served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Mr. Lingle retired as a superintendent from Wagoner Construction Company and was a member of Franklin Presbyterian Church, where he was a former Elder Emeritus.
Mr. Lingle is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mabel Kluttz Lingle; two sisters, Mrs. Ailene Safrit of Salisbury and Mrs. Faye O'Bryant of Florida.
Service: Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. at Franklin Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Larry E. Summey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday in the church parlor.
Memorials: Memorials may be made to Franklin Presbyterian Church.
